Cavan Native Brenda holds a B.Sc. in Marketing Management and a European Diploma in Marketing Techniques. She has over 25 years Sales, Marketing and Business Development professional experience across Engineering, Construction, Retail, Advertising and Start Up industries.
With a keen interest in Irish Businesses, she enjoys keeping abreast of how companies adapt and evolve to meet their business needs and challenges. Brenda is passionate about supporting investment for R&D activities and took the natural step to join Braithwaite Ireland (now ABGI. Ireland).
She looks forward to working with many innovative companies in Ireland, bringing her expertise and keen eye to add value to clients’ claims.
Samir Belhout, Ph.D.
Senior Technical Consultant, Sector Lead in Science and Engineering
Samir has an extensive background in scientific and academic research, having completed his PhD in Nanomaterials Chemistry in 2018 (University College Dublin). Following this, Samir held senior research posts in multidisciplinary groups (including chemical engineering, plant biology and sustainable energy materials) both in Ireland and internationally (University of Helsinki, Finland).
Samir has a strong interest in R&D, particularly R&D being undertaken within Ireland and is keen to leverage his knowledge of the Irish R&D landscape to assist companies in maximising Incentives available for the carrying out of R&D activities.
In 2021, Samir began working as a Senior Consultant on R&D tax credit claims within EY, dealing with clients of different sizes (Start-ups, SME’s and multinational corporations) across multiple sectors (life science, physical science, engineering, software, food & agriculture. Samir joined ABGi as a Senior Technical Consultant at the beginning of 2023.
JP Purcell
Senior Technical Consultant, Sector Lead in Software and IT
JP graduated from University College Cork with an honours degree in Computer Science and then joined Amazon Web Services as a Cloud Engineer, working there for three years. He then joined KPMG Ireland in the CHEC TAX department where he worked as a Scientific Consultant for 2.5 years, before joining ABGi as a Software Technical Consultant in April 2022.
Since joining ABGi in April 2022 as a Software Technical Consultant, JP has focused on helping companies across Ireland maximise the value of their innovation activities through R&D incentives. His technical background and sector-specific insight make him a trusted advisor to technology and software clients navigating complex funding opportunities
Ciaran Lennon
Innovation Funding Consultant
Ciarán has an extensive background in scientific and academic research, having completed his PhD in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering (University College Dublin), following from a Masters in Materials Science and a Bachelors in Chemistry. This academic experience was supplemented with a strong grounding in the industry-based R&D, having undertaken the PhD in a collaborative project with a multi-national Orthopaedic device design and manufacturing company with strong ties to and a base in Ireland. .
Ciarán has a strong interest in R&D, particularly R&D carried out in materials science, engineering and manufacturing. Ciarán specialises in developing detailed and thorough technical reports, leveraging technical experience and knowledge to validate all R&D carried out by each respective client.
Ciarán began working as a technical Consultant on R&D tax credit claims with ABGi in June 2024 and since then has built significant experience dealing with clients of different sizes across multiple sectors (life science, physical science, engineering, manufacturing, food & agriculture).
Luke McGrath
Innovation Funding Consultant
Luke holds a degree in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin. After his studies, he spent a year working at KPMG’s R&D Tax Incentives practice, where he gained a deep understanding of the Irish R&D Tax Credit scheme,
working with a large number of multinational organisations.
At Visiativ, Luke works with clients in artificial intelligence,
software and hardware development, big data and
many movers of industry-leading technologies.
